Mission Service

The Masters Helping Hands is a service group at Lutheran Church of the Master who cares for the congregation and the community. All are welcome to attend the meetings the first Monday of the month at 7 pm in the Education Building. Here are a few current projects being undertaken.

The group serves at Chris Becker Dining Hall, the first Sunday of every odd month. A dessert is provided for the diners as well as helping to serve a meal and clean up the facility. Chris Becker Dining Hall is run by St. Vincent's Charity and is located in the Sunnyslope area.

A church wide drive for blankets, coats, warm clothing, and new underwear for the homeless is being sponsored. The donations are then taken to the Sunnyslope Family Services Center for distribution to the homeless in the area. Several large boxes of items have been taken to the center to go directly to those in need.

Children's gifts were purchased by group members for families who could use a little extra help this past Christmas season.

The group does not officially meet during the months of July and August.

The group has adopted the following mission statement that reflects its purpose and goals:

“To serve God’s church and community with love and compassion by addressing the spiritual and physical needs of its members.”
